Rosie O’Donnell Finds a Buyer for Her N.Y.C. Penthouse After Leaving the U.S. for Ireland

The comedian first listed the sprawling property for $8.3 million in May 2023

Rosie O’Donnell is finally parting ways with her New York City penthouse amid her big move to Ireland.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom condo previously belonging to The View alum, 63, appears to be in contract, nearly two years after it was first listed for sale for $8.3 million in May 2023, per the listing held by Caroline Bass of Corcoran. It is currently listed for $6.9 million.

Nestled in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of Turtle Bay, the home is just shy of 3,400 square feet and spans three levels of living space, including an impressive 1,620-square-foot roof deck.

Built in 1985, the property offers sweeping views of New York’s skyline as well as the East River and the northern cityscape.

Once inside, the living room offers more than 760 square feet, ideal for entertaining space with features like a honed black granite wood burning fireplace, two seating areas, Russian wide plank oak floors, city and river vistas, top-of-the-line millwork, custom architectural lighting, Savant sound and television system and Nest controlled systems.

Another interesting feature is the glass-enclosed dining room.

A wet bar with a light-up onyx stone countertop, bar sink, storage and wine fridge are also included in the dining room.

The kitchen makes for the perfect place to prepare meals on the Italian Boffi kitchen island with Corian countertops. Each top-of-the-line appliance comes as two.

Moving to the bedrooms, the king-sized primary offers new levels of privacy, plus six custom floor-to-ceiling closets, unparalleled views of the Chrysler and Empire State buildings, an additional walk-in closet for ample storage and a spa-like bathroom.

A sculptural Guggenheim-inspired staircase is one of the many focal points of the Turtle Bay triplex.

Though each floor offers something special, one of them includes a two-person Swedish sauna that is situated next to a white marble and mosaic bathroom with double sinks, a jacuzzi bathtub, a separate stall shower and a heated floor.

O’Donnell’s farewell to her New York City home comes after she confirmed her move to Ireland with her 12-year-old child Clay in a TikTok shared on March 11.

“I was never someone who thought I would move to another country,” she said in the video.

“You know, I’m happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country. When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” she continued, seemingly referring to the current Trump administration.

O’Donnell first hinted that she moved to Ireland in a series of Instagram posts on March 7. Alongside a selfie of her in a car, and wrote in the caption that she’d “bought a little used car to tool around the countryside on the wrong side of the road.”
