Dishes Straight from the Farm ( Crispy Fried Quail )

A deliciously crispy and flavorful quail dish, perfect for a gourmet meal!

Ingredients:

  • 4 whole quails (cleaned and halved)
  • 1 cup buttermilk (for tenderizing)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch (for extra crispiness)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or peanut oil)

Preparation:

  1. Marinate quail in buttermilk, salt, and black pepper for 1 hour.
  2. Mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne in a bowl.
  3. Coat quail in beaten egg, then dredge in seasoned flour mix.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry quail until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Serving Suggestion:

Pair with lemon wedges, spicy dipping sauce, or a fresh salad for a perfect balance of flavors!
